As mentioned on the home page, I have just published my first book, USS Nimitz: Tiger Cruise. In late 2005 when the Nimitz was returning from a long deployment in the mid east, I was invited to sail along from Pearl Harbor to San Diego on what is known as a Tiger Cruise. This book is my view as an artist and writer of life aboard an aircraft carrier. Perhaps, this is the first time a fine art photographer has had the opportunity to create art aboard an operating US aircraft carrier. The images are compelling and stunningly lovely to look at. And, if I say so myself, my journal observations are informative, appreciative and wryly humorous. The launch of USS Nimitz: Tiger Cruise at the same moment as the PBS series, "CARRIER" is possibly coincidental. It took both PBS and Bill about two years to put together a great artistic presentation. However, I did pull forward my publication date to complement the well deserved public recognition the Nimitz and crew are receiving on television.

USS Nimitz: Tiger Cruise will be available by May first. My objective is to make USS Nimitz: Tiger Cruise one of the most widely distributed word-of-mouth books ever. SVOS, Silicon Valley Open Studios is May 10 & 11, 2008. My studio will be open those days. On display will be new work, some old classics, several select Nimitz images from the ongoing exhibition (see below) and perhaps the first color prints created from the Nimitz Tiger Cruise. Last but not least, I have also created a 43 image exhibition titled (you guessed it), USS Nimitz: Tiger Cruise. This exhibition is currently showing as a one guy show at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, CA. The show is up until the first week in June. Stop by if you are in the neighborhood. The hand printed B&W's are marvelous and the show well presented. As the Michelin Guide would say, "Worth a Trip!".
